SOCIAL AND MEDICAL CENTER IN FANAR

Built in 1984, the center is a pillar in the Fanar and Metn region offering different health and social services to each and every person of various surrounding communities irrespective of age, race, nationality, religion, & gender at minimal cost. 

It consists of a Primary Healthcare Center as well as a Social Center.

SOCIAL & FAMILY SERVICES (children & adults)

Offer personalized support to families ensuring personal and professional growth. Help in fighting poverty, domestic violence, and drug and substance abuse.

CARE & SUPPORT FOR THE ELDERLY

Help the elderly cope with isolation and withdrawal through different activities and social outings throughout the year.

MOTHERS’ CLUB

Offer support to mothers to help them regain their self-esteem and self-worth through different activities, conferences, debates and special outings.

EDUCATIONAL SERVICES (7-14 years old)

Provide students with free daily school support and homework that they are unable to get from their parents.

KIDS’ CLUB (7-14 years old)

Introduce and teach children about civic education.

ADOLESCENTS’ CLUB (14-18 years old)

Develop and work on the adolescents’ different psychosocial competencies such as: resolving conflict, develop critical and creative thinking.

YOUNG ADULTS GROUP (16-18 years old)

Accompany young adults in their life projects giving them the proper support and guidance.

’AL NADI’, THE SOCIO-CULTURAL CLUB

Entertain and support members with different activities (conferences, debates, computer use, pool-table, and table-tennis) that help alleviate tensions, stress and aggressivity. This club offers young people the opportunity to meet, play and chat in a healthy atmosphere away from the streets and problems of delinquency and drugs

 

 

 

 

 

Volunteers are essential for the center’s weekly social activities, impacting the different groups and communities they engage. Volunteers are trained and supported by our full-time team optimizing their competencies through trainings, workshops and evaluations.

The Fanar Primary Healthcare Center is accredited by the Ministry of Health for the Primary Healthcare (PHC) program in collaboration with the young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) and the International Medical Corps (IMC).

 

Originally built in 1984 to help more than 1200 families from the Chouf region, today it is an indispensable resource to the various communities in the Fanar & Metn regions.

 

Led by qualified specialists and experts, our services include:

Preventive and curative assistance, decreasing the load on neighboring hospitals.

GP Family Medicine, Gynecology, Cardiology, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Psychology, Nursing, Dental Care, Physiotherapy, Vaccination Campaigns and Laboratory Tests.

The center relies heavily on fundraising to maintain its activities as well as support the local communities through artisanal & culinary products, these include:

  • Crochet Coasters
  • Different baking & culinary goods: cakes, cookies, jams…
  • Various fundraising events throughout the year: lunches, theaters etc…
